We have been hard at work fixing bugs and improving Get It Done, here are a few things that we launched last night.

New Email Service

Last night we went live with our new email server which should be much more reliable sending out the thousands of emails we send every hour. A few of you were not receiving emails from us reliability and we moved over to a much more reliable system which should scale better as we grow.

Encoding bugs

We fixed a number of issues related to international characters such as russian and japanese. One major one was emails that you send to our system were not being encoded properly, this issue is now fixed.

Keyboard Shortcuts

We fixed the bug which was not popping up the add dialog when we press the +/= button

We have a small bug fix build for the web app released today, there were a few cosmetic issues when we updated to a newer version of a library and we released a fix for this today.

We are proud to announce that we have a beta app in the app store for the BlackBerry PlayBook!

We love the PlayBook here, it is super fast and just the right size. Dare I say that I might end up using this more than my iPad? Time will tell! Since we just got our device today, we are just starting to test on the actual device and there are a few bugs that need to be worked out.

Blackberry Playbook

To find us in the App World just search for ‘Get It Done’ and install the app. Once you log into the app you will have to change your sync settings to ‘Online Only’, syncing seems to not be working properly yet. To change your settings:

• Click the Setting button in the Get It Done App
• Click ‘Sync Preference’
• Click ‘Online Only’

This might be a little slower than syncing but it should work for you.

The only other thing that we found not to work properly is re-ordering of tasks. We will work on these bugs and release a more stable version when it is complete.

Everything should now be working properly. We have learned a lot from this experience, overall I think our backup plans worked pretty well considering we were able to get back and running while most of Amazon was still down and none of your data was lost or damaged.

There are a few things we will be looking into so that we can fall over to our backup system a little quicker.

It seems that 24 hours later Amazon.com still has not fully recovered from their world wide outage. Since we are on their servers we were also affected. Amazon is still down but we have migraded to our backup plan. Here is an article that talks a little more about the outage and what sites were affected: http://j.mp/huhY8A

We are running off of our backup systems until this is straightened out, everything seems to be working properly except for 2 items:

• Emails sent to your getitdoneapp.com email address might not get added to the inbox
• Recurring events will be delayed until we get back running again.

We will keep you up to date with more information as we get it.
