1) Save (cntrl-s) would be nice. That way you could (+) create a task, tab to create context, then save.

2) On the iPhone when you are in a project and create a task, it inherits the Project. That doesn’t happen on the web app and would be very useful.

Those 2 steps would make populating a project very efficient.

I just want to echo what Matt has said in the above post, =/+ doesn’t do anything on my keyboard either. With the lack of ability to use syntax to add tags or dates a good alternative would be to open the task dialogue box with a keyboard shortcut.

Yes, tagging and adding dates is cumbersome. Add task, hit enter, wait for refresh, click on task, enter, type text for tag, enter/tab, click on due date, etc. So I like Bryan’s idea about adding intelligence in the subject is good.

Maybe better would be “Shift-Enter” adds the task and highlights it in the inbox… and then enable key strokes for adding a tag (t), adding a date(d).

I can’t get “=” or “+” to work for opening the Add form.

Is there a way to go through all the tasks on the given screen and adding contexts or moving to different focus or projects without using mouse??

Responding to Jerry – maybe some tag keystrokes in the quick add so you’d type: “Do the task #Joe %24 APR” and it would be added as Do the task, with Joe as a tag and April 24 as the due date. I am not a coder so I have no idea if this is hard or easy. Other task management apps have this feature (e.g., Remember the Milk) so it might be easy to at least judge if it’s hard to do. Same syntax for add by email would be nice. I view this as a nice to have, though – unlike others, I like using a mouse because I use this app to THINK ABOUT how I organize my day. Physical engagement with the to-do list is important to me.

Tagging needs to be made much easier, and no mouse needed.

And after a quick add, it needs to be trivial to scroll up and down to a task, and open it, edit it, and close it, again, with no mouse.

I would like to see keyboard shortcuts for:
completing tasks
* opening a task for editing
* adding attachments in the editing view
* moving up and down through the list of tasks to change tags or due dates
* and I too would like a shortcut to move items to next or today or a different project or back to the inbox.
