Adding an ics or ical Calendar to Outlook 2007 is fairly straightforward.
    - Open Outlook
    - Switch to the Get It Done Web Page
    - Click ‘Export’ – ‘Subscribe to Calendar’
    - Click the Option to ‘Enable Calendar Syncing’
    - Click the Calendar http link

The Calendar will open under ‘Other Calendars’ in Outlook.

    Hi Tim,

I was under the impression that if you do it this way it is only a one time snapshot of the calendar and not really ‘Subscribing’ to the calendar. For example iCal will get updates from Get It Done every 5 minutes to see if there were any changes on the calendar. I’m not sure if Outlook does this.

But I did find this online form Microsoft:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101673251033.aspx

I think the “Add an Internet Calendar Subscription to Outlook” section is what we are looking for.

(please excuse my ignorance, I am not an Outlook user)

In order for you to have a subscription to a web calendar the calendar has to end in .ics and start with webcal://. Because your link is http:// outlook will only recognize this as a snapshot calendar and not a subscription. Thus a bit pointless to have this in outlook if we have to continually click the link within getitdone to have it post properly to outlook. I am sure you guys can correct this on your end pretty easily.

    One more request…

If a task doesn’t get completed on the day it’s due, does it carry over to the next day or does it stay on the original due date? This would help if we utilize our calendar sync so the items with due dates never get older than today.

Is there a way to select just certain Tasks or Smart Groups to Outlook? Remember The Milk provides this functionality.

I like to maintain and manage ALL of my To Do items in my web task app (RTM, testing GID) — both work and personal tasks. However, RTM allows me to sync ONLY tasks from my WORK list to my Outlook Calendar. I use Outlook on my work computer, so I do not want my personal Tasks syncing to Outlook for privacy reasons. I like that RTM allows me to determine which tasks to sync with my work computer.

I am in my second day of testing and I need better directions that what you have provided to sync my outlook calendar. How do I switch to the GTD web page from outlook?

What specifically are you having trouble with? To get to Get It Done you will need to go to getitdoneapp.com in your web browser and log into your account.

Guys, can I synch this app / tasks, etc.. to my outlook or via toodledo?
I’m on a windows pc and have the GTD add-in and use it everyday, I want an Ipad app that will auto synch my tasks. can I use this to do that? the ical doesn’t work since it creates a new calendar and not synch my existing one with my tasks? or am I doing something wrong? thx
    Mark

Get It Done only syncs with our online app, and our mobile apps. You can also get a copy of your tasks as a Calendar.

We do not sync with other 3rd party apps
